Welcome back Class Rashford

Hello Class Rashford, 


I am very exciting about the exciting, interesting and fun-packed term we have ahead of us! I have had a fantastic year so far and it has been a pleasure to teach such a great Year 2 class.  


PE will remain on a Tuesday afternoon and will be gymnastics this term so please bring the correct kit. In regards to homework and spellings it will continue to be handed out on Friday and expected back in on Thursday the following week.  Also, I would like to remain everybody to keep going on TT rockstars as we will be moving on from the 10 times tables to our 2 times tables. 


Maths– We will continue to build our number sense using specialist NECTM resources. Also we will finish our work on addition and subtraction and move onto money. 

Reading– We will be looking at a brilliant book ‘The Snow Dragon’ and we will finish off by looking at poetry which will be one of my favourite poems, ‘the owl and the pussycat’. 

Writing– We will start by writing a setting description based on ‘The Snow Dragon’ moving onto a report on micro habitats and minibeasts. 

Science– We will be focusing on how animals change over time with an in depth look at life cycles. 

Geography– our geography will take us to Kampong Ayer where we will be comparing this location to other places. 

DT– In DT we will be exploring solid structures in the aim to build our won bridges. 

Art– In art we will be looking at famous works of the renaissance focusing on self-portraits. 

Music– In music we will be singing Christmas carol and learning a fun packed and challenging song, Ho Ho Ho’.
