Our Ethos and Values
High Quality Inclusive Teaching
We nurture curiosity and creativity through an inspiring, broad and engaging curriculum. Children are empowered to take ownership of their learning by asking questions; this journey begins in our Early Years Foundation Stage with The Curiosity Approach. Through collaboration, our children develop learner characteristics which prepare them for life in modern Britain, locally and globally. We take pride in excellence and forge life-long learning habits which include being physically active, mentally healthy and independent. Everyone in the school community is determined to make progress and thrive in our respectful environment. We are all dedicated to challenging ourselves and inspiring others to have high aspirations.
At Malton Community Primary School we value:
- Determination
- Enquiry
- Respect
- Collaboration
Collaboration is key to successful enquiry. Knowing how to learn and work with others will prepare our children to for later life. Our approach to teaching and learning goes beyond cooperation; collaboration encourages children not only work together but to think together.
At Malton Community Primary School we encourage everyone, children and adults, to learn. We believe everyone has a duty to learn and a duty to help others to learn. Our teachers are brave and determined. Practice is evidence-based and everyone is encouraged to regularly develop their knowledge and understanding of how children learn best.
Our inclusive curriculum, promotes eight characteristics of a successful learner: Perseverance, imagination, communication, reflection, adaptability, inquisitiveness, having principles and motivation.
