World Book Day information – Thursday 4th March:
Thursday 4th March is World Book Day and here at Malton Community Primary School we will be celebrating all that is wonderful about sharing a story together.
Learning from home will not follow the normal timetable and teachers will not deliver lessons in reading, writing, maths and other subjects. Instead, there will be live sessions throughout the day as well as follow up activities all based around the enjoyment of reading and sharing a story. Your child’s class teacher will explain this via Teams this week and the timetable for the day will be uploaded to Seesaw for you as well.
Children (and adults!) are invited, as always, to dress up as their favourite character from a book for the day. However, we understand that this year is far from normal and that everyone’s circumstances are different during lockdown. Children are also invited to create a model or piece of artwork to show their favourite character from a story instead. Please see the flyer for parents and the timetable for the day for more information.
World Book Day vouchers will be emailed to you or if you would prefer a paper copy, these can be provided for you on our return to school. Please see the poster for more information.
Updates to timetable from 5th February:
Dear parents, carers and pupils in Class Earhart,
We know that sometimes pupils need a little additional help from their class teacher and as we are not in the classroom at the moment, this is not always available as it would be. We have decided to make some changes to Friday afternoons, beginning this week, to help with this.
Friday pm timetable (from 5th February):
Celebration Assembly as normal – 1.15pm – 1.45pm
1.45 – 3.00pm Independent task set on Seesaw and time to catch up on any tasks from the week. Responding to feedback from class teachers. No live lessons.
During this time, teachers will invite pupils to small group or 1:1 sessions on Teams. They will let you know by inviting you as normal through the Teams calendar.
Please ask your class teacher if you need any help.
Thanks,
Miss Anderson
