I have been substantive Headteacher at Malton Community Primary School since 2012. This is my first headship. I am a strategic partner for the Esk Valley Teaching Schools Alliance, supporting Research and Development. I previously worked as a lead teacher for literacy in Hull and a senior leader in York, where I gained Advanced Skills Teacher status, specialising in literacy and curriculum development. I have also worked as an associate teacher for the University of Cumbria, delivering consultancy on Talk for Learning across Hull, North Yorkshire and the North East. I have recently completed a MEd in Inclusive Education, focusing on types of teacher knowledge, in particular pedagogical content knowledge and teaching children to read for meaning. My particular areas of interest include enquiry-led curriculums, action research in schools and collaborative approaches to learning. I am incredibly passionate about developing future leaders in school and have a clear vision for Malton Community Primary as a centre of excellence.
