March 30th - Update

Hello Class Armstrong. How have you all been enjoying your time off school? I hope that you have been fitting in some learning with all of the extra time you have got. I also hope that you have enjoyed spending a little time with your family and perhaps explored some activities that we are not able to do at school. UK School Closures - 19th March Update

Firstly, a huge well done to everyone and thank you for your continued positivity and flexibility during a challenging time.

If your child will be working at home for the forseeable future, they will be leaving school with a home learning pack tomorrow (Friday 20th March). The pack has been designed to offer opportunities for your child to continue learning the knowledge and skills expected of them in the National Curriculum. I would encourage you to explore this pack with your child as they may require some support from you with this.

If your child is continuing to attend school after this week, you are not required to take any action in relation to their learning. School will continue to organise this.

Spring is here

  Class Armstrong has made such a lot of progress since the start of the academic year. Following Christmas, they extending their number knowledge and have been developing their ability to problem-solve and reason in their work. They have been working hard to commit the two and five times tables to memory.

In literacy the enquiry has centred around fairy tales. They have been exposed lots of traditional and rag to rich stories and have had opportunities to retell, act out and re-write stories in their own words.

In science and geography they have been learning about the weather and seasons in the UK. They have learnt about equipment such as thermometers and have had opportunities to take measurements and record weather data.
