Class Umansky have had lots of fun exploring our enquiry ‘All About Me’ this half term.
We have continued with our writing phase, looking at traditional tales and rewriting the story of Hansel and Gretel. As inspiration for writing about our story settings we visited Orchard Fields and explored the woods, gathering ideas and vocabulary to develop our writing. The children had lots of fun thinking of and gathering adjectives and expanded noun phrases to use in their stories.
In maths we have been looking at the part-part-whole model and thinking about how this can help us solve addition and subtraction problems. Thank you for supporting your child to use this model at home. If you could continue to practise number bonds to 10 and 20 with your child this will develop their maths skills and will enhance their knowledge of important number facts. There are useful songs and videos which can be found on Youtube, and relevant games can be found on the Topmarks website (https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=number+bonds+to+10).
We will continue to teach PE each Friday. Please could I politely remind you that each child needs the correct kit in school for every PE session.
Please could I also ask that you make sure your child has an appropriate pair of indoor and outdoor shoes for school.
If you have any other worries or questions, feel free to catch me either before or after school.
