Class Umansky have had a fantastic Autumn Term!
We have completed our non-fiction writing phase and the children have done an excellent job of presenting information in their information leaflets.
Class Umansky have had lots of fun exploring our enquiry ‘All About Me’ this half term.
We have continued with our writing phase, looking at traditional tales and rewriting the story of Hansel and Gretel. As inspiration for writing about our story settings we visited Orchard Fields and explored the woods, gathering ideas and vocabulary to develop our writing. The children had lots of fun thinking of and gathering adjectives and expanded noun phrases to use in their stories.
Class Umansky have had a fantastic start to the new school year. We have enjoyed getting to know each other as part of our enquiry ‘All About Me’, talking about our families, likes and dislikes. We have also shared photos of different celebrations and the children were thrilled to be able to talk about themselves and their families with their peers.
I am pleased to welcome back Class Umansky after the Summer Holidays. We have had a brilliant first week back, spending time getting to know each other and reminding ourselves of our classroom rules.
We have spent the week looking at Green Eggs and Ham, discussing the structure of the poem before writing our own poems about food. We have also begun thinking about place value, counting in steps of 2, 3, 5 and 10.
