Class Riordan’s First Half Term

The title says it all – it is amazing just how quickly the first half term has gone by.

Firstly, I would like to once again thank parents for your support with home learning and uniform. Both areas have been excellent over the last few weeks and I look forward to this continuing into the next half term.

We have had a fun-packed few weeks since I last wrote. During the final week of term we performed our Harvest Song in our annual Harvest Assembly. The children sang ‘Thank your Lucky Stars’ beautifully. They had put a lot of effort into preparing for this and it showed through during their fantastic ‘live’ performances. Thank you to parents who came to support.

Another event that parents also attended was our Gardening Afternoon. The children learnt how to weed and plant bulbs. Hopefully we will have beautiful looking grounds by spring time. Here are a couple of pictures from the day.

To finish the term we have been focusing on our gingerbread structures. As part of our ‘All about me’ overarching theme, we have designed a structure that is related to ourselves. We started by designing templates, then making cardboard models.

We then used our updated templates to make the gingerbread structures.

Although the results were not quite as we had hoped, the making of the gingerbread was still very successful and tasty. I hope that parents had chance to try some!
Mr. Hardcastle.
