Happy Spring One and All!

Hello One and All!

We were really lucky to be able spend the first day of Spring in the glorious countryside amoungst nature in the search for a... Bog Baby! The Bog baby is a special character in a story that we shared during our trip. We will be doing lots of writing around this character in coming weeks. We had a wonderful day at The Arboretum near castle Howard last week. We collected lots of different materials that we have brought back to school that we thought might make a good habitat for the Bog Baby. We hunted high and low, through muddy fields, flowery paths and boggy bogs until, eventually we found it! We were lucky enough to be able to bring it back to school as a stimulus for our future writing.

Our current Literacy phase is about presenting information. We are becoming Easter experts so that we can create information reports about why and how Christians celebrate Easter across the world. Reverend Diggins visited us last week and helped to answer lots of our pre-prepared questions. If you want to find out more about Easter, ask your child!

In Maths we have been honing our measuring skills. Every child in Andreae has improved their measuring with accuracy skills using a ruler to measure length. Some of us have been investigating into perimeter as an extra challenge!

We have started out new enquiry with the over arching theme of right and wrong. We will be collecting our wonderings and big questions this week.

Thank you for all those parents and carers who encourage and support their child's reading at home. Daily reading at home and at school is vital for your child's continued progression in all areas of the curriculum. Can I also remind all parents that it is essential that your child has their PE kit in school from Monday until Friday? Some children are still not bringing their kits in for your PE session, which is currently on Monday, and this is restricting their development in PE.

If you have any questions please come and find me either before or after school.

Thank you

Miss Smith
